WHO AM I?

Smiling woman with glasses and light brown hair wearing a patterned top and black cardigan.

I am a fully insured qualified and experienced counsellor, with a Post Graduate Diploma in  Person Centred Counselling. I am a Registered Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - MBACP (Accred).

I have also completed a  Level 2 qualification from the Association of Psychological Therapies in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).  I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision to add Supervision to my private practice offer. I supervise individuals and offer group supervision to Charity counselling organisations also.

In addition to my Private Practice I worked as a volunteer counsellor for Off the Record Counselling in Norwich for 3 years. I completed my student placement at Norfolk & Waveney Mind and continued to work there as a volunteer counsellor for a total of 2.5 years. In both these settings I saw a range of clients in open ended and time limited work.  I was previously employed by the NHS as part of the Norfolk Healthy Child Programme where I worked as a Resilience and Emotional Health Practitioner for almost 4 years.  I also worked part time as a counsellor within a hospice setting working with bereavement clients, those with life limiting illnesses and carers.

I am also a Qualified Primary Teacher, and taught for 15 years in schools in the Norfolk and Suffolk area. I have work experience in the heritage industry, educational resources sector, construction industry, retail/hospitality and charity sector, working for both local and national charitable organisations. I believe this diversity of experience and taking on a new career direction in midlife enables me to connect with people from a variety of different backgrounds and with diverse experiences. I have a background which includes a lot of work around family relationships. I have also worked with a lot of clients who have chronic health conditions.

Outside of work I enjoy walking in the local area, time with my cat, crafting and spending time with others.

You have a great skill, to wrap up and present accurately an understanding of what someone is going through. It’s nice to feel seen in that way.

Feedback on my counselling approach from a colleague.
